Design and operating principle of manual glue spreader

Handheld glue spreader is a container to which other components are attached: a roller, a handle and a sole. The adhesive composition is poured into the tank. A roller made of soft rubber material is fixed at the bottom. The handle is located on the back wall of the container.

The glue poured into the tank lubricates the roller, and is transferred from it to the back of the edge. The master directs the movement of the glue spreader manually, holding it by the handle. The flat bottom part helps to position the device correctly for even application of glue.

Some models have a built-in mechanism that regulates the supply of adhesive. This option allows the craftsman to more accurately dose the application of glue to the edge.

To glue furniture edges, it is enough to buy a manual glue spreader with a 75 mm wide roller - with this tool you can process any edge, since its width does not exceed 54 mm.

A manual glue spreader, equipped with a 150 mm wide roller, is used when gluing large parts is necessary. The increased size of the tool helps to apply glue to a large surface area.
