How can you strengthen your position against competitors and create your own unique style in the market? We have the solution — the new KDT KN-5516 machining center, developed in cooperation with the Italian company MASTERWOOD, a subsidiary of KDT Machinery. This machine offers a wide range of functional capabilities designed to meet any requirements of modern manufacturing.
The 5-axis machining center is a perfect solution for companies striving to bring individuality to their production processes. Its capabilities cover a broad range of applications: from furniture fronts and cabinet furniture components to custom architectural structures such as windows, doors, and staircases. Particular attention is paid to high precision, flexibility, and machine reliability.
Unlike conventional 3-axis milling of a workpiece, 5-axis machining allows the product to be processed from five sides without additional repositioning operations on the working table.
This makes it possible to produce complex-shaped parts while maintaining high precision and processing speed.

The machining center is equipped with a servo-driven automatic carousel tool changer with 22 positions and an air-blow system for the tool gripping area, allowing the use of tools weighing up to 6 kg. A linear tool changer with 5 positions is designed for heavy aggregates equipped with an HSK 63F holder. As a result, machine downtime is minimized while providing exceptional machining flexibility.

The working table with 8 rails, digital positioning indicators, and SCHMALZ vacuum blocks enables fast workpiece positioning. Its dimensions are 5150 mm in length, 1500 mm in width, and 200 mm in height.

The machine is equipped with a powerful 12 kW electrospindle from the Italian manufacturer HSD “ES779”. The spindle features an intelligent self-diagnostic system that transmits real-time data for precise machining control. Its key features include a rigid construction, liquid cooling, HSK-F63 clamps, rotational speed up to 24,000 rpm, “C” axis rotation (0 to +720°) and “A” axis rotation (-20° to +200°), automatic tool changing, as well as monitoring and overload protection systems. Information about the spindle status is displayed on the control panel.

A drilling unit is installed with 12 vertical spindles, 8 horizontal spindles, and a grooving saw for maximum drilling operation speed. Technical specifications of the unit: Spindle center distance: 32 mm.
The 5-axis operating block and the drilling head work independently thanks to two separate screw pairs along the Z axes, enabling fast tool changeover for different machining operations.
- Motor power: 2.2 kW
- Rotation speed: 4600 rpm
- Grooving saw blade: 125 mm (5400 rpm)

To ensure maximum working convenience, the table is designed without external hoses that could interfere with operation. The machining center itself is built on a high-tech aluminum profile system. This solution not only eliminates the risk of hose damage during processing but also allows up to eight vacuum blocks to be installed on each profile. The absence of external hoses provides greater operational stability and makes worktable setup easier. The advantages of this solution are clear: time savings, improved workpiece holding, and simpler table configuration thanks to a wide range of vacuum pods and pneumatic clamps.

Quick-change clamps for linear workpieces

Special quick-change clamps for curvilinear workpieces
The pendulum operating mode divides the worktable into two zones, allowing different machining programs to be set for each zone. This significantly reduces the machine cycle time, as while machining is performed in one zone, the operator can service the machine (change workpieces) in the other zone.

The control system of the machining center is represented by a modern and multifunctional OSAI panel with numerical control software, which has received high recognition in industrial applications. Its capabilities enable the processing of workpieces of any complexity.

The touch control panel provides convenient setup and machine operation without being fixed in one position, which significantly reduces setup time before production.

The MASTERWORK software enables graphical programming of machining operations without the need for ISO programming. This platform is intuitive and does not require special technical knowledge. The user can visualize the machining process and make necessary adjustments in real time. MASTERWORK supports importing DXF files from commercial CAD systems and automatically converts them into ISO programs.

The KDT KN-5516 machining center is an excellent choice for companies seeking high-performance machinery with flexible configuration for different tasks. It enables significant improvements in production efficiency, reduces processing time, and ensures high precision in manufacturing complex and unique workpieces. With this machinery, manufacturers can strengthen their market position, increase competitiveness, and create distinctive products that stand out from the competition.
